Popularly known as ‘Kala Paani’, the colonial prison was converted into a national memorial in 1969. The memorial gives a sneak peek into the life of the freedom fighters who were imprisoned here.

Pay homage to the brave heroes as you take a tour of the various galleries and a museum, showcasing old photographs and stories of notable freedom fighters.

Tips

  • The memorial remains open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • The entry fee is INR 30 per person.
  • The memorial remains closed on Mondays.
